The process was so satisfying – it reminded me somewhat of creating a photograph, in that the color modified because it dried, or of paintings (my old flame). Then I just couldn’t cease playing with colors and trying to determine what else I may use. I made A lot of mistakes, in fact – a lot of horrid browns – however every time I occurred throughout something new and lovely it felt like a private discovery and that I still can’t get sufficient of it.

I love how some of colors marble and appear to capture that moment in time, relatively like a watercolor painting, and working with silk are simply very deeply satisfying to me. I really like making one thing beautiful by hand, wrapping it up like a reward and sending it off worldwide.

Debra Prinzing will current: “American Beauty: Slow Flowers, Seasonal Floral Design, and Eco-Friendly Techniques” The workshop includes a brief lecture, followed by a demonstration and arms-on eco-design workshop.
